Firearms & Ammunition

Each hunting client may import three firearms. This may include two rifles and a shotgun. Handgun hunting is also allowed in the appropriate caliber. Automatic weapons and military-type weapons are prohibited. The minimum caliber on plains game animals is .270, while a .300 or above is preferred.

Regulations state that the minimum caliber for Dangerous Game – Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Crocodile & Hippo – is .375, while a .416 or above is preferred.  The maximum amount of ammunition is 60 rounds per rifle.

We do have an assortment of heavy rifles, light rifles & shotguns available for hire along with ammunition.

Airlines have strict restrictions regarding firearms and ammunition. Prior to your departure please check with your travel agent or the airlines and review their regulations. All firearms must be unloaded and locked in a hard case, with ammunition in a separate container.

You are also required to obtain a Customs Form 4457 for your firearms from U.S. Customs prior to departing from the United States.
